How clear aligners work

Clear aligners use a series of custom-made, transparent trays to move your teeth a little at a time. Each set is worn for about one to two weeks, then swapped for the next in the series. Using a digital scan of your mouth, Dr. Vaysman maps out your entire treatment in advance, so every tray is engineered to move specific teeth in a precise sequence until your smile reaches its final position.

What clear aligners can correct

Invisible aligners treat many of the same issues as traditional braces, including crowding, gaps and spacing, mild-to-moderate overbites and underbites, crossbites, and relapse after previous orthodontic work. Very complex bite problems may still be handled best with braces — the honest way to know is a quick exam. Not sure which is right for you? Our braces vs. Invisalign comparison walks through the trade-offs.

Your treatment, step by step

1. Complimentary consultation. We examine your teeth and bite and confirm whether aligners are a good fit. 2. Digital scan & plan. A quick 3D scan replaces messy impressions, and you will often see a preview of your future smile. 3. Wear your trays. Wear each set 20–22 hours a day, removing them only to eat, drink anything but water, and clean your teeth. 4. Brief check-ins. Short visits every six to eight weeks keep treatment on track. 5. Retention. When you finish, a retainer protects your new smile for the long term.

Cost & insurance

Clear-aligner treatment is often comparable in cost to braces, and many dental plans cover it at the same rate. Most families combine insurance, interest-free monthly payments, and FSA/HSA funds.
